Transparência e Integridade is an independent, nonprofit civic association of public benefit. It is the Portuguese offshoot of the global anti-corruption network Transparency International, which is present in more than 100 countries.
Created on 17 September 2010, TI is a recognized development NGO. It is the Civil Society Focal Point (CSFP) of the Civil Society Pillar of the Community of Democracies and a member of the Tax Justice Network.
By fighting corruption and fostering values of transparency, integrity and responsibility among citizens, institutions, public and private firms and in public opinion, TI aims to promote democratic legality and good governance. It runs campaigns, investigation projects and training sessions, and cooperates with other governmental and non-governmental organizations.
Our aim is to help strengthen democracy in Portugal so that a more just society emerges. To this end, we favor genuine access to information so that citizens can be better-informed and participate more fully in the democratic process.
